Speaker is Illinois Legislative Inspector General Carol Pope. She was Menard County state’s attorney from 1984 to 1991 and was resident circuit judge in Menard County from 1991 to 2008, when she was named to the appellate court. She won a 10-year term to stay on the appellate panel in 2012.
